If you read every line that uses the word “Spirit” in the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, with alcohol in mind instead of ghosts, it STILL makes perfect sense.

- “Spirit!” said Scrooge in a broken voice, “remove me from this place.”
- “You are about to show me shadows of the things that have not happened, but will happen in the time before us,” Scrooge pursued. “Is that so, Spirit?”
- “He had no further intercourse with Spirits, but lived upon the Total Abstinence Principle, ever afterwards; and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!”
