The mission of the Hartford Business Improvement District (HBID) is to bring about positive and lasting change by enhancing the economic vitality and quality of life within the District. Working collectively with the Mayor’s Office, Police Department and Public Works Department, as well as the more than 100 property owners and other organizations within the District, the HBID will accomplish its mission through initiatives that create a safer, cleaner and more attractive environment for employees, residents and visitors to the District.

The HBID manages with a focus on city destinations, events, and attractions. We are committed to bringing new and interesting events and activities into the District.

The HBID Ambassadors provide help with automobile lock-outs, emergency refueling, flat tires and jump starts in Downtown Hartford and a portion of Asylum Hill.

The HBID Ambassadors now provide help with flat tires, popped chains, and other light bicycle maintenance as well.

Unless otherwise noted, meetings of the HBID Board of Commissioners are held at 8:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at 31 Pratt Street, 5th Floor, Hartford, CT.  The meetings of the District’s board of commissioners shall be open to all property owners and lessees.
