Women in Jazz: Concert & Interview w/ Bassist Mimi Jones
Hartford Public Library celebrates Women in Jazz with a concert and conversation with Bassist Mimi Jones. Born in New York City and with parents from Barbados, she grew up listening to a variety of music and is a bassist, vocalist, producer, label owner, filmmaker, and professor at the Berklee College of Music. Jones is supported by an engaging and ingenious collection of musicians: pianist Jon Cowherd, drummer Jonathan Barber, and soprano saxophonist Samir Zarif.
