The Emily Hall Tremaine Lecture in Contemporary Art w/ Janine Antoni
Multidisciplinary artist Janine Antoni returns to the Wadsworth for the first time since her 1996 MATRIX exhibition to discuss the development of her practice and reflect on her influential contributions to contemporary art. Antoni is known for her unusual processes, using her body as a tool and source of meaning within the conceptual framework of her practice. Her early methods involved transforming materials such as chocolate and soap through habitual, everyday processes like bathing, eating, and sleeping to create sculptural works, installations, and performances. Reservations are encouraged.
