Secret Mall Apartment
What begins as an outrageous stunt unfolds into a sharp, funny meditation on art, space, and survival in late-capitalist America. Secret Mall Apartment (2024, NR) tells the stranger-than-fiction story of artists who secretly lived inside a Rhode Island mall—hiding their apartment behind a blank wall for four years. Special screenings feature post-film conversations: on May 3 with director Jeremy Workman and artists Michael Townsend and Umberto Crenca, and on May 6 with The City of Hartford’s Taneisha Duggan and Jeff Aucker.
