REMEMBERING ADA MARIA ISASI-DIAZ: A Virtual Conversation with Yolanda Tarango, CCVI D.Min.
Join in for an interview with Sister Yolanda Tarango who co-authored Hispanic Women: Prophetic Voice in the Church, with Ada Maria Isasi-Diaz in 1988. A pioneering work, this book offered a unique synthesis of liberation, feminist, and Latinx theologies as they are demonstrated in the everyday lives of Latinas within the Catholic Church. Recognizing the invisibility of Latinx women in the doing of theology, they decided to it was time to privilege to these women’s voices. Working with Las Hermanas, a national Catholic Hispanic women’s organization, they met with grassroot Latinx women in different parts of the country, recording and honoring their stories as sacred text.
