Freedom Trail Sunday

Honor the CT Freedom Trail in Historic Hartford with a full day of programs presented by Center Church, 1636 Heritage Partnership and the Ancient Burying Ground Association. Begin the day with the Inaugural Center Church Freedom Sunday Service, featuring a guest sermon by Bishop John Selders of Amistad United Church of Christ in Hartford. Then, the Ancient Burying Ground Association will present a Freedom Trail Walking Tour on the history of Africans, African-Americans and ties to the West Indies in Hartford.

Center Church will host a reception followed by a screening of the film Amistad. After the film a talkback will be presented with Center Church’s Andre Keitt and Pastor Emeritus Alan McLean.
