Election Cake Bake-Off 2024
In Connecticut’s 18th and 19th centuries, Election Day combined voting with parties, libations, parades, and CAKE. Stores sold special Election Cake ingredients to women who transformed them into spicy cakes for crowds gathered to vote at the State House and in other Connecticut cities. For the third year in a row, Connecticut pastry chefs and bakers will compete whisk to whisk to have their confection named the official 2024 Connecticut Election Cake. Let them eat cake. And vote. And everyone keeps their head. This is a democracy, after all.
