Lisa Alvarado / MATRIX 192 / Spinning Echo
Lisa Alvarado’s free-hanging works challenge traditional boundaries between painting and textile, sound and material, and art and life. In her MATRIX exhibition, six new abstract paintings hang within a site-specific installation of floor sculptures and multichannel sound, encouraging visitors to consider what it feels like to see, or what it looks like to hear. Curator Jared Quinton leads a tour and discussion of Alvarado’s genre-defying practice and the eclectic inspirations behind it.
