Workshop: Islamic Illuminated Art
Afghan artist Khalida Marefat and her brother, Emran, lead a hands-on introduction to Tazhib, the intricate art of Islamic illumination. Participants learn traditional techniques for designing shamsas—radiant sun medallions—while creating their own painted piece in this workshop open to all skill levels. All materials are provided for this workshop.
