The Steminist Monologues – Workshop
In this fun and creative workshop, you will explore the craft of playwriting by shaping your idea or story into a 2-minute (approx. 260 words) monologue that is personal, active, and thoroughly entertaining! Your monologue could be selected for our live theater performance of The STEMinist Monologues on Thursday, May 11. Monologue pieces selected for the live performance will be invited to attend an additional Workshop on Saturday, April 22, to work directly with Julia B. Rosenblatt in the Science Center theater, where you will fine-tune and rehearse your 2-minute piece for the big show.
The Connecticut Science Center’s Women in Science Program envisions a society in which women and girls are widely represented and supported in their pursuit of STEM as learners, teachers, professionals, and in the case of The STEMinist Monologues….as performers! The STEMinist Monologues will be an entertaining, heartfelt, and inspiring live theater performance showcasing the uniquely challenging and rewarding stories of Connecticut Women in STEM!
