The Hopgood/Lord Summer Music Series – Nelson Bello Latin Jazz Group
The Hopgood/Lord Summer Music Series is a free music series celebrating the memory and life of Frank Lord, thanks to the generosity of his wife, Suzanne Hopgood.
This week’s band is the Nelson Bello Latin Jazz Group. Conguero and Hartford native Nelson Bello is an all-around Latin percussionist who frequently performs with bands throughout Connecticut, New York City, Boston and Puerto Rico. As a teenager, Bello performed in Cuba with the band Insight. He studied at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, the Hartford Conservatory, and under Jackie McLean at The Artists Collective.
