READ IT & SLEEP: Dinner, Ducklings & Free Family Fun

Charter Oak’s fun-filled FREE family night returns with an all-time classic story – MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS! Join special guest Barbara Vita for a family dinner at 5:30pm followed at 6:15pm for a reading of the book, a sing-along, and a craft activity that you can take home.

Barbara Vita will be reading Make Way for Ducklings, by Robert McCloskey. This beautiful book, written in 1941, and awarded the Caldecott Medal, has been a favorite of parents and children for generations! Mrs. Mallard was sure that the pond in the Boston Public Gardens would be a perfect place for her and her eight ducklings to live. The problem was how to get them there through the busy streets of Boston.  But with a little help from a friendly policeman, Mrs. Mallard and Jack, Kack, Lack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack arrive safely at their new home. This charming story is all about community and how we all need each other to get by.

Barbara Vita has been working with children and families for over twenty years. Barbara is passionate about helping parents, and children realize their full potential; she especially loves playing, singing, and reading to little ones! Barbara knows that when you read and interact with your little ones– they will have a happier, brighter future.

Registration is required by Thursday, March 16, 2023.
