Intro to Stand Up w/ Kate Risk
This workshop is for beginners early in their stand up journeys, or even people who have never done stand up before! You will learn about joke structure, stagecraft, tools for getting better, combatting stage fright, professionalism, and how to break into a local stand up scene. There is no need to prepare any material for this workshop, but feel free to bring some if you have it!
About the Instructor: This workshop is taught by Kate Sisk. Kate is a touring stand up who has appeared in the HBO Women in Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Fest, and the finals of the Boston Comedy Festival. Kate performs in New York at Sesh Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Stand Up New York, and more. Kate was a recent participant in the NBC Late Night Writers Workshop and formerly cohosted the podcast We’re Having Gay Sex.
