Hear the story of entrepreneur, master craftsman, and free person of color Thomas Day, who built the most successful cabinetmaking workshop in North Carolina during the 1850s. His complex story explores privilege in the face of adversity as well as the rich history of North Carolina’s furniture tradition. Free with museum admission. Meet in front of the Museum Shop.
