Myq Kaplan: imPERFECT
Myq (Mike) Kaplan has been a comedian for 20ish years, a human for 40ish, and atoms since the beginning of time-ish.
In his newest hour of comedy, “imPERFECT,” Myq Kaplan explores all the work that has gone into creating who he has come to be, and all the work that still remains to be done. He offers advice to his past self – and anyone else who wants it – on subjects ranging from traditional marriage to polyamory, quantum mechanics to the Talmud, childhood to much-older still-happening childhood (a/k/a âadulthoodâ), reflecting on possible improvements as a man, a relationship partner, a comedian, an Earthling, and as matter and energy comprising an infinitesimal portion of the universe.
Infinitesimal, but acclaimed: in their review of his 2018 Edinburgh debut, the UK comedy guide Chortle said that Kaplan “…should be making any comedy connoisseurâs âto seeâ list.” And that was the PAST! This is now. Come see how much more perfect “imPERFECT” is.
Myq Kaplan has appeared on the Tonight Show, Conan, Letterman, James Corden, Seth Meyers, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, and Americaâs Got Talent. He has a one-hour standup special on Amazon, âSmall, Dork, and Handsome,â and two podcasts, The Faucet and Broccoli and Ice Cream. His debut album, âVegan Mind Meld,â was one of iTunesâ top 10 comedy albums of the year, and his newest album, âA.K.A.,â debuted at #1. The NY Times called it âinvigoratingly funnyâ and included it among its five âcoronavirus best new comedy specialsâ⊠âto remind you of the old normal.â And now, here we are in the new weird!
