Lecture: Nevertheless, She Persisted: Artemisia’s Adventures
The women artists in “By Her Hand” are outstanding for their persistence and their talents. Elizabeth Cropper, Dean Emerita of the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, will focus on the persistence and fortitude of Artemisia Gentileschi, suggesting that we still have much to learn from her life and work despite the advances of women, and especially women artists, over the centuries.
