Kuchipudi – A South Indian Dance Presentation

This free educational and performance presentation will provide a basis for understanding Kuchipudi classical dance, introduce Carnatic music and dance’s social and cultural history, as well as demonstrate Kuchipudi dance so that audience members will be able to make connections to the art form and culture.

Sarada Nori is an accomplished performer and teacher of two classical art forms from India – Kuchipudi dance and Carnatic music. She has been trained in these arts by leading exponents and holds a Masters degree specializing in Kuchipudi. Sarada is the founder and artistic director of Layavinyasa, an organization that promotes these art forms in the New England region through training in Kuchipudi dance and Carnatic music, cross-cultural artistic collaboration, and public outreach.
