Ray Gonzalez and His Latin Jazz Quintet

Ray González is a musician dedicated in mind, body, and soul to the creation of music. A renowned musician and Latin music pioneer in Connecticut, González was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. He attended the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, the University of Puerto Rico and studied trumpet under the tutelage of legendary Master Teacher Carmine Caruso in New York City. With over 45 years of experience as a professional musician, arranger, composer, conductor and educator, González has shared the stage and recorded with international music luminaries such as: Tito Puente, Charlie Palmieri, Giovanni Hidalgo, Jackie McLean, Paul Brown, Charlie Sepúlveda, Paoli Mejias, Ismael Rivera, Jerry Medina, Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montañez, Luis Marín, Johnny Pacheco, Ray de La Paz, among many others. Through the years, González has been commissioned to arrange and compose music for many ensembles and orchestras, including the Hartford Symphony and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra.
