Kizomba From Angola in America:
Kizomba Dance originates in Angola, Central West Africa and became popularized gradually concurrent with the internal struggles of Angola and other PALOP countries (former Portuguese colonies) from the late 1970’s through 2010. Notable is the melange of French Caribbean Zouk, a la Kassav; and, Semba music to create Kizomba Music. As the Dance moved to Europe and the Caribbean with the people and their culture, by mid 2007 the dance was becoming popular in several American cities and in Canada.
