Head Rose Gardener Peter Winne will lead two FREE tours of the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden (September 25 & October 2) to celebrate the Garden’s second peak. No registration is required. Tours will meet at the flagpole in front of the green Cottage.
Although late spring is peak season in the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden, early autumn comes in a close second. Cooling nighttime temperatures inspire the roses to produce a final flush of blossoms before later autumn freezes send them into their winter dormancy. Whereas the June tours focused on the heritage roses and the Park’s famed blooming arches, these autumn tours will highlight modern roses in the interior beds, many of which display their richest colors in late September and October.
Alternatively, if you are interested in booking a private group tour please contact Peter Winne directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After your tour, enjoy lunch at the Pond House Cafe. Advance reservations are advised. Every purchase made at the Pond House supports the Elizabeth Park Conservancy and the beautiful gardens!
