Located two miles from the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford’s West End, the Austin House, a National Historic Landmark, is the largest object in the Wadsworth Atheneum’s collection and is the former home of A. Everett “Chick” Austin, Jr., the museum’s director from 1927–1944.
With a $25 contribution to the Sarah Goodwin Austin Memorial Fund, guests are invited to visit the Austin House and also receive same-day admission to the Wadsworth Atheneum. Advance reservations are required, and groups are limited to 12 visitors. Guests will meet their docent at the Austin House, located at 130 Scarborough Street, Hartford.
